At MJS Jewellery, Matthew sources high quality GIA certified diamonds that are conflict-free and ethically sourced. Matthew hand selects all gemstones provided and all of his bespoke engagement rings are accompanied by an independent valuation.
Where possible, all of our engagement rings are crafted and designed with the foresight in mind that a flat wedding band will accompany it.
Specialising in designing and handcrafting bespoke fine jewellery for engagements and celebrating special occasions, clients are treated to personalised one on one couture service, where you can be involved in the design process as much as you would like to be. Every couture piece is beautifully hand sketched, and gemstones personally sourced by Matthew.
Matthew Staff is an Australian award-winning master jewellery designer, goldsmith and qualified gemmologist (FGAA). Matthew has been handcrafting fine jewellery for 25 years, 10 years within his Brisbane James Street jewellery studio; Matthew’s passion lays in crafting exceptional designs executed with expert hand craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
Our Bespoke Process
Initial Consultation
Visit the James Street Studio in person, or phone/email ahead to make a time with Matthew to chat about your future piece.Design Consultation
After your initial consultation, Matthew will source any required gemstones and hand sketch a range designs options for you to view. Quotations will be provided. This process can take one to many design iterations.
Commission The Piece
Once the gemstone / design are finalised and you wish to proceed with commissioning the piece, we will require a deposit. Matthew will then start handcrafting your special piece for you.
